Grow Story from Yuan

By Zhenzhen | Program Volunteer

The first time when I met Yuan, I asked him what grade he was in. Because Yuan was very shy at that time and hesitated to tell me that he was in grade five. At first, I thought he was an introverted child and worried about being challenged in the process of getting along with Yuan. In addition, I noticed that Yuan had some congenital diseases, which made it difficult for her to exercise. I was also surprised to find that the class Yuan chose was basketball, which made me look forward to the new story with him. He couldn't listen to the teacher's command in the first basketball class. He often run everywhere alone, shooting or bouncing the ball by himself. This makes the management of basketball class worse. Because other children were very easy to be driven by such behavior, resulting in classroom discipline chaos. The second day I took the initiative to communicate with Yuan, sincere expression: "Yuan, the teachers are very willing to care about you and love you. But at the same time, the teacher is also very much looking forward to you can try to listen to the teacher's words in the basketball class, participate in the training. Teachers really want you to be happy and learn good quality. For example, be able to bravely express your love, know how to understand others. And the teacher wants you to know that the teachers love you very much. Therefore, I expected Yuan to try to assist me to maintain class discipline and ensure the smooth completion of our class. So we can have more time to play together after class. Is that OK? Yuan" After the chatting, Yuan had the very big change. He began to care and understand the teachers, felt the teacher in class discipline hard. Yuan not only took the lead in observing class discipline, but also helped manage class discipline and reminded other students to listen carefully in time. At the end of class, he would also take the initiative to pull me and other students to play games together. He knew how to express himself and his love for his teachers and classmates in a good way. For example, he will organize the students in the class to unite when playing football. To protect the safety of themselves and other students, to avoid injury. He began to compare notes with his teachers. He would help busy teachers with their meals etc. When they took a group photo, Yuan smiled and said, "Miss, could you stand next to me and take a picture with me?" Yuan has no longer meet for the first time that timidity, also won't naughty mentality to get someone's attention. I think this is his big growth! Share on Twitter Share on Facebook
