"I am a Shining Star!" charity performance

By Agnes Liu | Project Leader

In 2023, students in dance clubs at our 10 partner schools were taking dance very seriously. In order to give them a better stage to show, and to let more people see the potential of left-behind children in mountainous areas, on the afternoon of January 6, 2024, we held a public benefit performance "I am a Shining Star!" for the students of dance clubs in 10 schools!

Early in the morning, we rented five cars to pick the teachers and kids up from school. It was the first time for all of them to perform in the county, so they were very excited!

About 150 rural left-behind children from 10 rural primary schools in Huaiji County showed their transformation results one by one, allowing everyone to witness their growth and efforts.

In this performance, Shining Star is committed to creating a positive, full of laughter and supportive atmosphere for children, so that each child can find their own stage and enjoy happiness. The children's performances are full of innocence and enthusiasm, which makes people feel like returning to their childhood. At the same time, their performances also show the tenacity and courage of the left-behind children, who tell everyone in their own way that although they are in the mountains, they have unlimited potential and power.

In the future, withe the power of the dancing, they can have more strength and optimism in facing the difficulties in their road of life.  Small children in a limited environment to emit unlimited potential, this dance, this company and encouragement like flashlights, accompany them over the mountains to reach the next distance.
