Resilience for 1000Left-behind kids in Rural China

In the Growth camp, there was a girl called "Xiaofen". During the first home visit, she left a deep impression with her gentle actionsShe voluntarily changed the order of home visits and silently took on the role of the last one waiting, never complaining of being tired throughout the process.

Entering Xiaofen's home, the neatly arranged certificates of merit on the wall instantly illuminated the room: Chinese, Mathematics, English... Each subject has its own honors for her. The titles of "Three Good Student" and "Civilized Little Angel" cannot hide her outstanding all-round development in morality, intelligence and physical fitness. What's even more heartwarming is that when her cousin came to play at home, even if she was just sitting quietly, the sensitive Xiaofen could still notice that she was in a bad mood and asked her in a soft voice, acting as gentle and considerate as a little adult.

 But such a good Xiaofen hides a bit of "little timidity". Since there were no familiar friends in the Growth camp, she always quietly hid aside, not taking the initiative to talk to other children. During breaks, she often sat alone, like a quiet little flower.

The Growth teacher soon noticed this quiet child. Every time the teacher saw Xiaofen alone, she would take the initiative to walk over and chat with her, starting from her favorite dance moves to interesting little stories, and gradually encourage her to try greeting the children around her. During the break of the school party, I saw Xiaofen sitting in the corner. The teacher pulled her to play a little game together again. In the laughter, Xiaofen's tense shoulders gradually relaxed.

Changes occur quietly and imperceptibly. At the "You Draw, I Guess" session of the school party, encouraged by the teacher, Xiaofen actually took the initiative to go up to the stage and pick up the paintbrush! The little animals she drew were so vivid and lifelike that the children in the audience cheered loudly. The teacher took the opportunity to praise her loudly, "Xiaofen's drawing is so wonderful. Look how much everyone likes your works!" Xiao Fen, upon hearing the praise, wore a shy yet bright smile on her face. 

On the day of the party, an even more surprising scene emerged: Xiaofen was no longer sitting alone in the corner but was gathered around with several children, chatting and laughing, and even holding small snacks to share with everyone. Seeing the Growth teacher approaching, she even took the initiative to run up and hold the teacher's hand to share the funny thing she had just heard - that little girl who once needed to be "found" has now become someone who has learned to approach her on her own initiative.

From a quiet "little observer" to a lively "little participant", Xiaofen's growth is like a seed gradually sprouting. We believe that this gentle yet brave little seed will surely shine even more brightly on a larger stage and in the warmth of more collectives in the future.
