What makes a report and report?

What makes a report a report?

Is a question that we have been discussing lately. We got the three pictures included as an sms (a text message) from our teacher Juliet in Fiarenana with the comment “workshop with parents group”.

Do four words make a report? Inquiring minds what to know more details (to list a few):

  • Who participated?
  • How many actually came?
  • How many cookstoves were made?
  • How did the bio-charcoal get accepted?
  • Do people actually use bio-charcoal in their kitchens?

But then we took a step back and talked about it. Isn’t it great, that a workshop, or a refresher workshop about improved cookstoves and making of bio-charcoal has become so normal, so mainstream, that a few pictures from a phone is enough as a report? For the theory of innovation, becoming mainstream is one of the major benchmarks of success. Once people say: “we always used cookstoves like these” you hit the jackpot.

And since the community decided in 2023 that the use of and improved cookstove at home is a pre-requisite to attend one of our schools, such refresher workshop in the school pavilion truly provides and opportunity for everybody to send their kids to school.

So here is her report (one above the text, two below):
