Project Report | Nov 25, 2024
Reforestation 2.0

By Markus Faigle | Volunteer

Reforestation by our students
Reforestation by our students
Reforestation has always been at the heart of our environmental activity in Madagascar. Improved cookstoves is its twin project, since it reduces the need for firewood significantly.

We are proud to announce that we just launched a new project with GlobalGiving. Applying the lessons learned from over 15 years of community driven reforestation, our project is named ‘Reforestation 2.0’. It has has an ambitious goal: 20,000 trees. This time the community decided to plant a contiguous forest in the next two years.

Please click on the project link for photos and additional information. We added a PDF file (at the bottom of the project page under 'additional docuamntation). It outlines the plan and its implementation in detail. Or visit our website.

You might consider our new reforestation 2.0, or this  one you alredy support, for GivingTuesday, December 3, for some proportional match on that day only. Please keep mind mind that December 3 from 0:00 to 23:59 is based on EST (Eastern Standard Time), if you don’t live in the Eastern USA. You can read about their matching formula here: 2024 GivingTuesday Terms & Conditions - GlobalGiving.

With the end-of-the-year giving season around the corner, if you are in the position to donate to international project, we humbly ask to please consider Zahana in Madagascar.
