In the last two months, the IT engineers and the medical team as well as community health workers of The Village Microclinic have conducted regular meetings on weekly basis to assess progress on our project of improving healthcare through technology in Burundi. These meetings have defined and designed many aspects of this project including:
1. The main objective of this project: to provide telehealth services that allow us to connect anywhere with secure and convinient appointment for our clients to save time for them. Our clients will schedule and attend appointments directly from laptop or mobile devices.
2. Identification of tools needed to implement the project such as: laptops, a telehealth software, mobile phones with specific app, IT experts for design and coordination, data collection and evaluation.
3. The team has put together all informations collected during focus groups and community outreaches to assess the main reasons that prevent our community to get access to health services. This will allow The Village Microclinic create a platform that envisions satifisfaction of our patients and guarantee the best medical services.
4. A calendar of activities, and timeline for implementation have been established to implement the project.
