By Nancy Njeri | Project Principle

Vocational Training girls
Vocational Training girls

Ready to venture into entrepreneurship and employability world, 10 girls from different backgrounds assembled at VAP offices to sign up as the next bunch of Mrembo Pastry vocational training. The new bunch of girls are scheduled to commence their vocational trainings this month of July. As usual despite pastry lessons, they will have an opportunity to be trained on personal goal setting, financial management, ICT as well managerial, leadership and job-searching and job-retention skills that will be valued in their respective communities, workforce and throughout their career.

Sports Celebrities Gather for a Common Goal

Over 30 sports celebrities including coaches, current and former players drawn from different disciplines amongst them: football, volleyball gathered at Jericho social hall for a one day’ Paying It Forward’ seminar. The group also comprised of former Mrembo and vocational training graduates as well as community chapter leaders representing various chapters who joined the rest of the team for inspirational life and career talk. The objective of the workshop was to increase leadership model capacity and to create a space for women sports leaders to interact, share, acquire and hone leadership skills. The sessions were led by seasoned women speakers invited from established women led organizations. “I have learnt and gained confidence in myself. As a girl I have my rights to make informed decisions about my life.” Said 14 year old Debra, from Maringo chapter.
