Listening to the children

Sofia Maciel

This October following activities delivered by the young people, we decided to chat to the children at our partner schools and we heard lots of special stories that we would like to share with you.

Six year old Sofia Maciel says that her favourite activity is reading mediation because it involves lots of contact with books and through this she feels encouraged to read ever more. She also says that she learns new things and stories from the books but isn't yet telling stories to other people.

Felipe Pereira who is 9 years old, got excited talking about Story Telling and said that his favourite part are the props that the story tellers use and also that he always learns something new from the stories he listens to.

Seven year old Deyse Silva loves the Puppet Theatre and for her, the best part are the stories of the plays themselves. She says that she always learns new things from the plays and that she then tells the stories to her cousin and feels great doing this because it is fun.

On hearing the feedback from the children, the teenagers said that they felt very proud knowing that all the work that they put in is achieveing the aim to provide well being to the children in addition to them feeling motivated to read more and use their imagination telling the stories they have heard to other children.
