Dear friends--
Worldwide, the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted the experience and process of education at every level. At Nehemiah Gateway's schools in Albania, students and staff have had to adapt to learning from home, and, this year, socially distanced hybrid learning. Our team is working hard to meet these challenges safely, while optimizing student learning and experience.
Throughout our educational programs at Amaro Tan, Nehemia School, and Nehemiah Gateway University, the team is meeting Albanian government guidance on social distancing and group sizes. Classrooms have been rearranged, and cohorts divided, at all three facilities so that group sizes and distancing can be managed. Face masks are worn, and temperatures are taken every day before school. At Nehemiah Gateway University, professors who would normally visit to teach have moved online, learning new skills so that they can continue instructing a new generation of leaders.
We are currently emphasizing fundraising for laptop computers for our teachers at Nehemia School and Amaro Tan-- an urgent need that will make it possible for teachers to move smoothly back and forth between classroom, and online learning this year. That campaign can be found HERE, and urgently needs your support.
Wishing you all the best in these challenging times,
Sarah Pita
