Improving Colombian social organizations with ICT

Training Session

With the support of GlobalGiving and yours, MAKAIA is taking steps towards best practices on ICT in Colombia!

Last month we organized two training sessions with Aula Abierta Foundation, an organization that works with cognitive disable children. The objective of this sessions was to give a background on the risks that children and adults face in the virtual environment when resources are not use in a responsible way. The staff and the parents learned about online safety measures and effective use of mobile devices at work, practices that will better protect and provide a safe environment for the development of online activities.

The sessions also emphasis in the way to improve the efficiency of the work that the staff do in their daily basis. The staff learned how to use technology in different classroom activities with the children of the foundation, taking advantage of the online tools available on the web.

Likewise, in August we carried out activities in public libraries to develop digital skills with people with hearing disabilities.

Thank you for your generous support and making a reality our dream of building capacities in social organizations in Colombia. This capabilities and online best practices will improve the lives of people with disabilities.
