Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, play, and reach their full potential.
Thanks to your generous support, children with disabilities at our Community-Based Rehabilitation Center are now participating in engaging music therapy sessions using a variety of instruments, including traditional tablaks, doiras, flutes, and xylophones. What may look like simple play is, in fact, an effective form of rehabilitation that helps children develop new skills while having fun.
Your contributions enabled us to purchase 10 musical instruments, which are now used regularly in rehabilitation sessions for 40 children. These instruments have become valuable therapeutic tools, helping therapists make sessions more interactive, motivating, and enjoyable.
Each activity supports a different aspect of a child's development. Through singing, drumming, and playing simple melodies, children strengthen their motor skills, improve coordination, increase attention, and develop communication skills. Music also helps reduce muscle stiffness, strengthens breathing and speech-related muscles, and builds confidence by transforming therapy into a positive and rewarding experience.
One child who especially enjoys music therapy is Akmal, a cheerful six-year-old boy with partial paralysis affecting both his arms and legs. During every session, he eagerly reaches for the tablak. As soon as the therapist hands it to him, his face lights up with a smile, and he begins playing with both hands. While he plays, his fingers gradually open, the muscles in his hands relax, and, over time, he has gained greater freedom of movement. What appears to be a joyful game is actually an important therapeutic exercise that strengthens his muscles and improves coordination.
Akmal's mother has also noticed encouraging changes at home. He now uses his hands more confidently during everyday activities, so she purchased a small tablak to help him continue practicing between therapy sessions. This simple addition to his daily routine reinforces the progress he is making at the center.
Akmal's journey is a wonderful reminder that rehabilitation can take many forms. Sometimes, a simple musical instrument can help a child take another small but meaningful step toward greater independence.
None of this would be possible without you. Your generosity is helping children discover new abilities, build confidence, and participate more fully in everyday life. On behalf of all the children, families, and staff at our Community-Based Rehabilitation Center, thank you for believing in their potential and making stories like Akmal's possible. We look forward to sharing more stories of hope and progress with you in the months ahead.
