When XSProject learned that the trash picker families we have been working with all these years were going to be evicted, we took this as an opportunity for us to find a new and better place for the children. There are many reasons that triggered this action. But the number one reason is that through the support of many generous donations, the situation of the children has improved significantly: mentally, physically and intellectually. To maintain this quality the children, need a better, cleaner and greener place to continue to grow and to learn.
We found a place nearby the current trash picker location and we have started the development since the beginning of the year. We still have few more units to build, so we invite everybody to be part of the children journey in this new place
The new location is being designed as a better, cleaner, and greener space for the Cirendeu children to learn and explore. The new site will have a community center, library and health center for the children, as well as a small office and workshop for XSProject.
Last month we introduced the site to the community with a tree planting. Donors and supporters met with the children and planted 13 Indonesia fruit trees. The following week, the Middle School children planted some traditional herb plants.
The new location will be a place for the children to learn and to explore not only inside the room but also outside. We hope to invite more children from the surrounding area, so they too can get the benefit of our new location
We invite you to be part of this journey with your donation through Global Giving, and we thank you so much for the generous support.
