Infant Feeding in Zambia, how COVID
Dear Friend,
On behalf of MAITS, we firstly want to thank you for your continued support - as the pandemic continues to impact on our face-to-face programmes.
Our infant feeding training was scheduled to be delivered onsite in March 2021 by Himali and Maya, our Master Trainers and Speech and Language Therapists - however due to enforced lockdowns and curfews our work has had to be paused.
As a result we are focussing on expanding our networks in Rwanda - working with organisations like Partners in Health and Jhplego Rwanda.
Our ambition is to support neonatal nurses and mdiwives across 10 provinces in Zambia to be trained in Lusaka as soon as we can. This include those nutritionally 'at risk' mothers and infants under 6 months.
We know that our programme makes a difference and our trainers continue to innovate. This year MAITS's training has been evaluated and praised by The Italian Association of Physiotherapists for its usefulness and practicality as well as being accredited by the Continuing Professional Development, UK.
We're still in regular contact with our trainers to resume our trainng in Zambia as soon as the situation improves.
With thanks for your patience.
The MAITS Team
