Thank you for your generosity

By Sophie Drysdale | COO

Thanks to your generous support Nucleo is able to deliver a free, immersive musical education in a community where many children cannot access paid-for instrumental lessons due to the deepening cost of living crisis and lack of affordable music education opportunities. We are the only programme in London that offers an ongoing, free music education on orchestral instruments, currently benefiting around 450 children and young people.

Over 85% of our families live in the poorest 50% of neighbourhoods nationally according to the Income Deprivation Affecting Children Index. Children in poverty face poorer outcomes: poverty impacts everything from academic attainment to mental health. Music education supports more rapid language acquisition, better executive function, enhanced teamworking abilities, greater empathy, more effective emotional regulation and greater self-confidence. By supporting a free programme in a disadvantaged community, you help us bring these benefits to the children who need them most.

Our goal is to equip students with learning and life skills to build a better future for themselves and their communities, through an immersive musical education. This is achieved by fostering students’ self-sufficiency and independence through our teaching methods - an impact reported by both our students and their parents and carers.

Our students learn one or more of 17 orchestral instruments, progressing through 10 group levels and achieving high standards in both individual and ensemble performance. Your generosity has helped provide free instruments to our talented young musicians, ensuring that the cost of an instrument isn't a barrier to accessing a musical education.

Every act of kindness from our supporters contributes to an investment that goes beyond music; it changes the lives of Nucleo’s young musicians and their community.

We sincerely thank you for your support in making this vision a reality.
