Greetings to all our community of Donor's,
I am happy to report to you that our very first donation of seven dollars helped in the purchase of sanitizer which we have use in several village functions, burial ceremonies during lockdown period and this bottle is now finished. Corona virus has remained a big threat to our entire community especially now that people are now allowed to congregate in markets, churches and funerals.
The government is doing it's best to vaccinate the population but the number vaccinated is still very low and the entire community is worried, the death rates are much in the village and it's not easy to establish whether it's covid or other sickness since our rural community health centers do not have testing medical equipment or even qualified medics, doctors.
Our NGO organized a community support programs on COVID-19, in conjunction with the medical team at the health department, community elders at the local level, health centers three government hospitals, anumber of issues were raised on how to help mitigate the spreading faster of covid among the rural areas, one of them was to ask the NGO to through their sponsors:-
To find fund's to help in spreading messages for community awareness on the spread and dangers of covid on community radios, and organize health team's and task force to enforce guidelines on wearing masks and washing hands with soap regularly. Most people have given up wearing masks in public gatherings.
It was proposed the government or Donor's can buy directly or send a volunteer to purchase for the community or NGO Donor's to make efforts to buy for the disadvantaged community to help save lives of mothers and most especially mothers going for child birth, the out cry of the community is to help many women are dying on their way to the hospital.
Additionally, the fight for COVID-19 most critical, the challenge is how to manage transportation of the sick to hospital, no protective gear, and ambulance service to pick and drop the sick to hospital and how to collect those who died for burial's, where the medical team is not involved, burial's are left in the hands of locals who have no knowledge of how covid spreads.
My appeal to our family of Donor's is help and help our people at this time of need, we are confused and we are losing many lives and the vaccines are not enough, help our government, work with our NGO and donate a community ambulance to help in the management of covid cases and pregnant women, mothers get to hospital in time for delivery and help save a life.
