Shyamala, a seasoned storyteller, has been
conducting interactive storytelling sessions
for Isha Vidhya students from Grades 3-5
since November last year. She narrates
stories from picture books, tall tales,
mythology, fiction, and folklore in 30-45
minute sessions. Most of her stories strive
to inspire compassion and discipline.
These online storytelling sessions aim to
enhance the students' listening and
comprehension skills, enrich their
communication skills, develop their
vocabularies, and improve interpersonal
interactions.
The students enjoy Shyamala's rhymes,
songs, voice modulations, and facial
expressions, which add vigor to her
stories. Kanishka says, “In the whole
week, Friday is a super day and the story
time is a super time.”
As we are working towards preparations
for the schools to reopen, we are so glad
to bring this report on the online activites
that are happening in the mean time.
We thank you so much for your support
to Isha Vidhya, and we look forward
for your continued support.
