A donor's visit to Nagercoil Isha Vidhya school!

Dear Patrons,

Recently, Mr. Ramesh Vinnakota, a donor to Isha Vidhya visited Nagercoil school. He sponsors the education of an Isha Vidhya student. Ramesh was accompanied by his mother in his visit to the school.

Ramesh interacted with the student he sponsors, and was pleasantly surprised by the fluency that the student had over English. The student is from a rural background, and she's learning English as well as using it as a medium of education at Isha Vidhya.

Ramesh was very happy to know that he is making a positive influence on the life of a underprivileged rural child by enabling her to pursue higher education or a career of her choice in any part of the state, country, or the world, because of her English medium education.

After meeting the student, Ramesh took a tour of the school. He also experienced the noon meal food provided by the school to the children.

Sponsors like Mr. Ramesh are key to supporting in ways that they could, in running a big project like Isha Vidhya.

Organic farming training at Isha Vidhya schools!

Isha Vidhya actively promotes organic farming to produce vegetables for its schools kitchens. Isha Vidhya's school coordinator who looks after school kitchens including procurement of equipment, grocery and vegetable requirements continuously strives in enhancing his knowledge about organic cultivation, by the way of attending talks, seminars and workshops, reading books, maintaining home garden and working with all the Isha Vidhya schools in setting up the process.

Recently a gardeners' meet was organized by Isha Vidhya at Erode school in which gardeners from Dhamapuri, Vanavasi, Cuddalore and Erode schools participated. Mr. Senthil Kumar and Mr. Suresh led the program, sharing information about organic cultivation.

The guests shared methods of making natural fertilizers and pesticides. School students too, actively participated in the program to get into the habit of going organic and understand its importance and benefits.

Later in the day, the participants went to the agricultural exhibition held in Erode city.

Creating awareness among the students and staff of Isha Vidhya about organic farming was a great experience for everyone involved. The students loved it, and the co-ordinators learnt and appreciated the meet.

We are sure that the Isha Vidhya students, as the next generation of environmentally responsible citizens will have the right perspective and care for the gardening and agricultural lands, with the knowledge that they gained from these meets!

Ford employees create learning materials for Isha Vidhya school!

Dear Patrons,

With all your great support, Isha Vidhya is doing fantastic work in India rural education.

Recently, over 75 Ford employees from Coimbatore came together to create learning material for Isha Vidhya schools and schools adopted under the Government School Adoption Program (GSAP).

Learning Material kits used at Isha Vidhya and GSAP schools help children learn subjects in an interactive fashion. These kits help students understand the topics quickly, retain knowledge longer and achieve better results.

It was a wonderful show by Ford employees. The raw material for creating these kits was sponsored by the Company and the dedication of the volunteers was amazing. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the volunteers and the management team who supported this event.

We take this opportunity to update you on the recurring donations opportunity that's active this week at GlobalGiving, for you to donate to Isha Vidhya.

Recurring donations are a great opportunity to show your continued support to your favorite project Isha Vidhya, by donating in parts over a long period of time.
