It is with great pleasure that we share that the work for building the 9th Isha Vidhya school has been started! This school will be located near the Karur town in Tamilnadu.
Isha Vidhya started its operations in 2006. Our first school was started in Coimbatore, which was followed by Nagercoil. After that, one by one, each of the other existing schools came up. Our last started school was Dharmapuri school. Currently we have 6884 students at Isha Vidhya, out of which 4620 students are in education sponsorships! The Karur school is expected to add a few hundred more students to our strength.
The Bhoomi Pooja (preparing the Earth) for the Karur school was conducted recently. We are attaching pictures of the same. It is our tradition to perform Bhoomi Pooja before starting of any construction work, in India. Dignitaries, and Project Director of Isha Vidhya, Shri. Vinod Hari participated and graced the occasion.
Isha Vidhya is changing the landscape of rural education in Tamilnadu by constructing model English-medium schools, thus guiding the nearby government schools. Isha Vidhya is also providing critical interventions in the government schools by augmenting teachers, taking care of slow learners, and suggesting alternate methodology. We do interventions in the government schools in Andhra Pradesh too.
