It is with inexplicable joy that we would like to share with you that Isha Golf Jaunt, an initiative to create awareness and raise funds for your project Isha Vidhya, happened in Pune, India on December 8th and 9th!
Sadhguru, Founder of Isha Education Trust, in which Isha Vidhya is a project, graced the occasion with his presence, and teed off to kick-start the proceedings. The event was attended by several dignitaries, popular golf players, industrialists, volunteers and general public. The event was sponsored and supported by several Indian as well as multinational corporates.
The event is meant to create awareness about rural Education in India, and raise funds for Isha Vidhya. Isha Vidhya operates 8 rural schools in Tamilnadu, and 1 rural school in Andhra Pradesh. The schools provide quality English medium education to the deserving, underprivileged rural children who cannot afford or have access to it. The children are provided by nutritious noon meal and safe transportation to the schools from their rural homes. In addition to the curriculum, the students participate in extra-curricular activities like sports, yoga, nursery, and arts & crafts. They are inculcated in the values of nurturing the environment, cleanliness, and health.
Anirban Lahiri, Indian professional golfer, participated in the occasion, and supported Isha Vidhya. Our heart-felt gratitude to Anirban for his support!
