Nandinipriya, an 8th grade student at Apollo Isha Vidhya Niketan,
Aragonda, Chithoor, Andhra Pradesh, India, planted a sapling in
the school ground on the occasion of her birthday.
Apollo Isha Vidhya Niketan has set a tradition of encouraging
students to plant trees on their birthdays. The students not only
plant trees but also take care of them till they pass out of school.
In Nandini’s words, “I would be studying in this school for another
5 years and watching my sapling grow quietly, bearing fruits and
giving shade to many kids, who would love to play in its shade.
This birthday will never fade from my memory.”
As you can see, children studying at Isha Vidhya imbibe the
value of taking care of the nature and the environment so that
the nature in turn can take care of us, which is an ongoing, caring
relationship! We are glad to share that Isha Vidhya students in
every Isha Vidhya school plant trees in their school premises, and
help create awareness among the general public too through events.
We would like you to support Isha Vidhya through your continuous
engagement by starting a recurring monthly donation for a small
amount. We are glad to share that the first instalment of the recurring
donation is matched 100% by Globalgiving! The link to start is:
