Each school has the potential to change the lives of its students. When the school is established in a rural area, catering to under-served population, its role become more critical.

Isha Vidhya established its 9th school in Dharmapuri village, in a rural district of Tamil Nadu. The school started its functioning from the academic year 2013 – 2014 thanks to generosity of Infosys Foundation which funded the building of the school. The campus is eye-catching and pride of the village.

The school, though, requires heavy investment to meet other infrastructural needs. The labs have been built, equipments, furniture, learning material, library books, school buses etc to be procured. Estimated cost for creating school infrastructure is $97,750 which we are hoping to raise through GlobalGiving platform. 

Global Giving has launched a festive season campaign encouraging recurring donations. Recurring donations are a great way to continuously commit your support for the project. It also facilitates to make a donation broken into small chunks split over several months.

If you make a new recurring donation in the period between Dec 20 and Dec 31, 2013, and continues to make 3 subsequent monthly donations for the same amount, Global Giving will match the first donation amount 100%, subject to a maximum of $200 per donor. Any donation above $200 will be matched with just $200.

The Terms & Conditions provided by Global Giving for the campaign are:

• Eligible donations will be matched 1-to-1 between 12:01 am EST December 20 nd 11:59 pm EST December 31.
• New recurring donations created on GlobalGiving.org will be matched 1-to-1 up to $200 per donor per project. Eligible recurring donations of $201 or larger will be matched at $200.
• To be eligible for matching, the recurring donation must last for at least three months and have both an initial donation as well as at least three automatic recurring donations. (For a total of four consecutive months.)
• Recurring donations that are cancelled after the initial donation but prior to the third automatic recurring donation are not eligible for matching.
