Gift an education...Make a life !

The visitors then visited the kitchen and the organic garden that generate
the vegetables for the school kitchen. One of the visitors was from a nearby
village called Indur, and hence a school with facilities like that of Isha Vidhya
was of special interest to him. The visitors were keen to know things like
fee structure, admission procedure, methodology, etc.

By the end of their visit, they were so impressed with the school. They
assured the Principal that they would help the school in whatever way
possible, specifically with school admissions.

Their feedback in their own words:

Shivaprakash Bhikshavatimath: I am speechless! Really, really impressed
by the structured education, facilities provided by Isha, the way students
are taught the subjects. Now onwards, I will become part of Isha education.

Kalaiselvam Natarajan: Really awesome education and the facilities are
here. The students are speaking very good English and the way giving
respect is really awesome. Even they have used all the places
(near the steps) for learning. Congrats Isha.

December Campaign of Isha Vidhya through Global Giving:

We take this opportunity to let you know about Isha Vidhya's participation in
the Global Giving's ongoing December campaign, in which Isha Vidhya is
raising funds to procure laptops for its academic co-ordinators.  We would
like to share one of the academic co-ordinators, Vivek's sharing in his own
words:

"My work primarily involves the following areas:

1. Content proofreading / reviewing for Isha Vidhya.
2. Class observations to check the level of the instruction/learning
methodology imparted by the teacher to the students and also to
determine the learning efficiency of students.
3. Training/counseling sessions for teachers (One to one / Whole group).
4. Conducting trails on new ideas/methods/rules that has to be
implemented in schools of Isha Vidhya.
5. Coordinating educational events which are happening in the school. 

A laptop is the life blood not only for me but for any academic coordinator
for the following reasons:

1. Content development is practically impossible without the use of
MS Office tools like Word, Excel etc,
2. Laptop plays a crucial role in establishing communication among the
members in the form of e-mails. Work updates/progress has to be sent
regularly to the reporting authorities.  
3. Training/counseling sessions for teachers involves the use of
Powerpoint and other video resources needs to be downloaded
from internet and for that laptop becomes inevitable.
4. Conducting trials on new ideas/methods/rules that has to be
implemented in schools of Isha Vidhya - This needs lots of research in the
form of articles/books/videos from the internet."
