Sports Day and the Annual Day are the
two school functions when students get
many opportunities to showcase their
talent.

Erode Isha Vidhya school invited
Mr. Makkal Rajan, Founder of the
“Rajiv Gandhi Polytechnic College”
and Mrs. Jothimani, the Village
Administrative Officer of Erode as
Chief Guests to the function.

The function started with Scouts and
Guides escorting the Chief Guests to
the stage. This was followed by the
singing of the invocation song and
the lighting of the lamp as per the
tradition. After a march past by the
school houses, the flag was hoisted
and oath was taken by the students.

Primary school students took part in
many competitions and races. They also
gave many exercise performances. Middle
school students performed the Flag dance.
Finally pyramid formations were presented
by 8th and 9th standard students.

Chief guest Mr. Makkal Rajan gave an
inspirational speech where he committed
to giving a scholarship of 1 lakh to the
student who makes it to the top spot in the

10th standard state board examinations.  The
speech was followed by the prize distribution
ceremony. The program came to end with
singing of the National Anthem.

"We celebrated our sports day on 12th
Jan 2016. For this celebration, we invited
Dr. Makkal G. Rajan, Mrs. Jothimani, and
Mr. D. Sengalvarayan, sponsor of our school
sports materials. It was a great pleasure
to us, because of the presence of the chief
guests and it added grandeur to our sports
day. Dr. Rajan was impressed by the sports
activity of our students and his speech
motivated the students as well as our teachers."

“You were born to win, but to be a winner;
you must plan to win, prepare to win and
expect to win. Our sports day was really
wonderful and colorful. Everything was
planned & executed in an order. Students
did their March-past exceptionally well.
It’s a treat to watch, each & every team
wore a colorful dress. Students did their
exercises and conducted many sports events.
“Sports do not build character; they reveal
it”. This sports day brought new energy to
the hearts and minds of every child. This
day was marked with great joy and discovering
the inner talent of every child in the field
of sports."
