Mathematics is fundamental to applying in
other subjects and fields. It's important to
let the students learn and appreciate the
importance of this subject right from the
early ages.
Mathematics Day @ Isha Vidhya
Villupuram school!
Math Department Teachers conducted several
events for students from 3rd and 9th Std.
Students enthusiastically participated in the
activities. The event was planned to help
reduce fear of Maths and develop positive
attitude towards it.
Math activities conducted included speed math
with mixed operations, essay writing about
mathematicians and their discoveries, and
presentation of math lab kits.
Sharing of student Suvedha of
8th std 'B' section:
"I like the Maths day! We went through many
maths formulae. I was very interested in going
through the formulae. We had competition in
our class about which student is going to
collect the most information about the formulae.
We went to the library for references about the
formulae.We collected around 200 formulae on
that day!"
Sharing of student K.M.S. Azhagan of
7th standard 'A' section:
"I collected the formula for a parallelogram! I
coloured it dark red, and decorated with a few
stones. I also decorated the chart with shiny
tapes. I got a special prize in this competition!
All of the classes had competitions for
collecting formulae. I liked and enjoyed the
Maths Day very much!"
Isha Vidhya encourages and motivates students
on various academic subjects by celebrating
events like Maths day so that students
understand the importance of the subjects.
