Isha Vidhya procures 3 laptops by GG fundraising!

Dear Patrons,

This is an utilization report of the funds raised in

the GlobalGiving December 2015 year-end fund-raising

campaign.

Isha Vidhya is an enthuciastic participator in the

fund-raising events and bonus days that are conducted

by GlobalGiving.

We entered the December 2015 month-long fund-raising

campaign of GlobalGiving to raise funds for procuring 30

laptops to be used by the academic co-ordinators of

Isha Vidhya, as the current laptops that they are using

are worn-out and in very bad shape. Many need frequent

backups to avoid data loss.

In the December campaign, we raised $1142, which was

sufficient to buy 3 laptops. We are glad to share that the

3 laptops have been bought, and are currently being used

by 3 of the academic co-ordinators! We share the
messages of those academic co-ordinators:

Senthil, School co-ordinator, Isha Vidhya:

"The laptop I used before was an old one, which
configuration was out of date and speed was too low.
Completing certain tasks was delayed because of it,
as my work mostly revolves around non-stop usage
of the computer. Now with the new laptop with better
configuration, my life becomes a bit easier and I thank
the donors for donating this laptop. This will pay for the
better life of many children indirectly. The laptop is useful
for me to make the following content:

Government School English syllabus&Grammar
content.
Isha Vidhya class &content
Reading Comprehension
Training content for Isha Vidhya and government
school.
Question papers for Isha Vidhya and government
school.
Sports curriculum"

"As a Government School Adoption Project coordinator,
I used to travel a lot rather than being in a place. Even
though for analysis and interpretations of the data, I
depend on the computer a lot. Various dimensions and
magnitude of the data are in need to check the progress
of the project towards its desired objectives. With my old
computer I felt hard to do the data analysis in large scale
in excel sheet as most of the time, my computer used to
hang and I was fed up to work, as it took a lot of time to
complete a simple work. With this new laptop with good
RAM,I felt very happy as I can complete my work in time.
I thank donors for providing this. Laptop provided me
helps me in following;

In GSAP project, every monthanalyzeshave to be
done on school wise improvement and improvement
of students in terms of marks obtained.
Online attendance of teachers and updating daily
report in the excel sheet.
Preparing reports and data analysis based upon the
need of reporting."

Ajith, School Coordinator, Isha Vidhya:

"As a school coordinator in Isha Vidhya, I have to do two

main things, visit schools for monitoring and develop

curriculum when there is a need.

Laptop provided helps me in following things:

Developing customized teacher manuals, student
handouts and worksheets that are linked to
curriculum documents.
Doing important tasks such as writing reports,
recording student grades and monitoring progress.
Creating digital contents to make the classroom
more interactive.
Access to laptops gives me the flexibility of
time and space to carry out our professional work.
Using laptop has made an enormous difference
to the work we do and communication between
the coordinators and the schools.
Laptops have become an essential tool for the
coordinators; it helps us increase efficiency in
key areas such as analysis, research, content
planning, documentation, administration, and
reporting."

We thank the GlobalGiving donors for their donations

towards the laptops procurement! We thank
GlobalGiving for providing the opportunity to raise
funds through this campaign!

We still need to replace the rest of the 27 laptops that
we originally planned to raise funds for. If you would
