Recently the 2nd grade students of the Nagercoil
Isha Vidhya school had an interesting theme called
“Fish-O-Fish'. To reinforce the theme, a field trip was
arranged to take the students to the Aqua World in
Kanyakumari, a nearby town.
A school trip is always exciting and when it involves
animals that we have never seen before, it is even
more so. Turtles, Star fish, and a variety of sea
creatures - every thing was awe-inspiring. Students
couldn't watch them enough!
After Aqua World, students were taken to the Gandhi
mandapam and the Kamarajar mandapam. Students
were asked to sit in silence in the Gandhi mandapam.
It was great that the kids could sit in silence. Later
they munched the snacks that the school had
arranged for them.
The students returned to school happy and enthralled
with information of many amazing sea creatures that
they saw!
Shares Bavithri of 2nd grade B section:
"I was very excited to go to Kanyakumari, and we went
to Kanyakumari. We saw many varieties of fishes like
lion fish, tiger fish, angel fish, etc., and tortoises in the
aquarium. I saw a tortoise for the first time! There
were many big fishes. We also went to Kamarajar
Mandapam and Gandhi Mandapam. When we went
in the bus, we shared our snacks. In the big beach,
we saw dolphin and guppies. Guppies had attractive
tails. In the Gandhiji mandapam, we saw the Gandhiji
statue. We were silent in the mandapam. Then we
went to the shops and the stalls. I enjoyed the trip
very much"
