Dharmapuri School teachers have motivated students to
write Tamil LCD stories. Keerthi of 8th Std and Keerthana
of 7th Std have so far submitted stories.
LCD stories are page by page projection of a story on the
screen. The students read out the story and respond to
questions asked by the teacher at the end of the story.
This helps in increasing the focus of the students and
enables reading comprehension. Since the stories are
colourful, and the characters are interesting, students
get very interested in it.
Shares Srilatha of 8th standard:
"I am very excited to write the LCD story. It makes
me think more. While I write this story, I get more
ideas in my mind. I wrote the story about friendship.
This idea came to my mind because of my friend.
Since I like my friend very much, the idea
came to my mind to write about our friendship."
Shares Keerthi of 8th standard:
"I am proud to join the effort of writing LCD
stories. I learnt how to make my own story.
I also learnt to draw beautiful pictures about
a palace. I am a fan of Akbar and Birbal
stories. So, I decided to do one story
on that. I also wrote a story on Tenaliraman,
which made me feel different because it
involves logic.
While writing the stories, I thought about the
presentation and the spelling. I like to create
material about precious birds. In the coming
days, I will produce beautiful LCD stories which
can be used by my schoolmates."
Isha Vidhya teachers are always looking for new methods
to improve creativity and knowledge among the students
so they came up with the idea of asking the students to
write stories and poems in Tamil. Writing, beyond syllabus,
helps them enhance their language skills too.
