National Level Archery competition, conducted by Regional Games

was hosted by Academy of Adventure Sports and Drona Archery
Association of India, was held at Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh. Students
from various were participating in the competition.
Competitions were conducted for four age groups, where 70 students
vied for the win. Four students from Isha Vidhya Vanavasi School also
competed.
Students who participated were Karthikeyan of 9th grade in Under 17,
Omshrivishwa of 8th grade in Under 15, and Sasidharan of 6th grade
in Under 15 age category, and Perumal in Under 14 category.
We are so glad to share that Perumal won the Gold medal in Under 14
category!
Perumal shares his experience:
"When I got a chance to participate in National Level Archery Competition
which was held in Uttar Pradesh, I got too much of excitement. Because I
didn’t imagine that I could get chance to participate and I got panic. My mother
motivated me a lot and she gave me more confidence that I could win in that.
When I got Gold medal I felt very happy and at that moment I felt like flying
in the sky. The secretary of, “Rural Games of Federation of India” called me
and our team members personally and he invited us to visit the Taj Mahal in
Agra. It is a great place and moreover it is one of my dream spots. Then he
showed us many expensive bows which were kept in the camp . They were
named as “Indian bow”,” Compound bow” and”Recover bow”. On seeing them,
I felt I should own those bows at least once in my life. And I hope that I will
do my best in upcoming competitions."
It's great to know that the rural children, given the opportunity, can excel in
many fields!
