A fortnight of Garden theme was celebrated at the
Dharmapuri school by the first grade class!
During these days, Dharmapuri school's first grade
teacher planned to plant a small area by the students.
Students were asked to bring plants and seeds of their
choice. They brought variety of plants like papaya,
marigold, rose etc.
A patch of land was prepared for the activity. Students
first watered the area before planting. They were so
happy to be planting their own plants. They were eager
to know then their plant will flower or/and give fruits. On
being explained that the plants will need regular watering
and taking care of, they readily promised to do so without fail.
Shares Bharath of Ist grade, B section:
"I felt very happy when I planted the plants. Hereafter I will save
all the plants. I will water the plants everyday. I would like to plant
more plants."
Shares Sanjanashree of Ist grade, A section:
"I bought this plant on my own. I planted by my hand. I feel happy
to see all the plants growing together. I learned about plants also."
Bringing kids in touch with plants will build sensitivity towards
them and also nurture deep connection with them. Do you
encourage your kids to plant?
