The value of learning about family roles cannot be
overstated, and it's great that Isha Vidhya students
learn the family relationships and roles at early ages
itself!
Dharmapuri school conducted 'My Family' session in
which grade 1 teachers, Aswini and Shobana encouraged
students to construct sentences that described the family
roles. The family members like 'father', 'mother', 'sister' etc.,
were printed on paper and cards were made from them.
Students wore those cards and represented the roles that
they stood for.
In a related activity, family photo charts were created.
Students were asked to get the pictures of their family
members which were affixed to the paper cuts out by teachers.
Using the family chart, they introduced each member to the
class, and explained the role they performed.
Students summarized their joy doing the activity: "We loved
telling about our family members, especially brothers and
sisters!"
Overall rounded growth of the child, being educated in multiple
facets, is an important goal of Isha Vidhya schools !
