'Agni Ignite' is the Tamilnadu State level Science Project Competition.
It is organized by Agni College of Technology, Chennai. It has two
categories - one for the senior students and one for the juniors.
Students up to 8th grade compete in the junior category and those
in 8th grade and above compete in the senior category. In this year's
competition, 7000 students from 32 districts in Tamilnadu state participated.
We are glad to share that 9th grade students from Dharmapuri School
Shalini and Srilatha received special award for their project 'Gas and Smoke
Detector'! They were motivated by their Science teacher Vijayaraj, who
needs a special mention!
The Director of Agni College of Technology, Mr. Agnishwaran handed over
the prize to the students. The National Information Officer at the United
Nations Information Center for India and Bhutan, Mr. Rajiv, who was the
special guest for the occasion, appreciated the project done.
It's exciting to see students from rural background making strides in
Science and Technology. We are sure that by enabling them continuously,
we will be generating many skilled citizens who can contribute to the world !
