On July 2nd, 2017, 54 volunteers from Chennai created educational charts
for Isha Vidhya schools. The volunteering activity took place in two locations -
Mylapore & Velachery.
5 year old Janani from Nanganallur was so dedicated to her volunteering
that she brought back her mother Prasanna who had gone for music class
and said she wanted to continue. They were there till the end.
69 year old Akila Amma from Velachery worked dedicatedly from start till the
end when we finished, without moving from her place. She was one of the
last participants to leave.
Five people came together and completed a chart in 10 mins. They worked in
unison and it was a feast to watch their dedication. Two of them were general
public from Old Mahabalipuram Road.
We are attaching photos from the event for your viewing!
Roshan from Velanchery Chennai centre shares, "For the first time,
I participated in preparing learning aids for Isha Vidhya schools.
I am very happy about it and the program was very enjoyable.
Unlike every Sunday, this one was utilised in a productive way. At the
same time this activity was creative, engaging and interesting.
By the end I'm infected with childlike happiness and excitement."
Shanti shares,"We gathered to make charts, sign boards
for Isha Vidhya. It was like going back in time to my teaching days, due to
various physical conditions I could not pursue that, this activity gave me
a reason to visit my cherished moments in classroom. All age groups including
children were present here, so it was a great opportunity for me and would like
to visit Isha Vidhya school too and create learning aids for them."
If you would like to volunteer to make educational aids for Isha Vidhya, please
email global.giving@ishavidhya.org expressing your interest, and we will get
back to you.
Thank you for all you did for Isha Vidhya and looking forward to your continued
engagement!
