On the occasion of International Yoga Day on 21st June 2017,
Tuticorin School conducted practice of Upayoga in the school.
Upayoga is a basic practice which requires very limited
investment of time. It gives the practitioner a taste of yoga
and its benefits so that they can make a deeper commitment.
Senior students are taught upayoga so that they too can teach
others. After the Upayoga session in the school, the Principal
suggested students to take it to their family members and
neighbours so that they too could benefit from it.
Shares Priyadharshini, a student in Tuticorin school:
International yoga day was celebrated on
21st June in our school. Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's
ancient tradition, It is a physical, mental and spiritual practice.
Student days is a period of life when we are stuck between school,
exams, sports, tuition and any other activities which result in
our mental and health disorders. Yoga helps me to balance my work
and to score good marks. Yoga has increased my concentration and
sharpness. We do yoga practice regularly in our school. I have
experienced a huge change in me after doing yoga. It is a great
workout. It gets us in touch with our body and doing yoga regularly
will tune our body. I share my experience of yoga with my parents
and friends and tell them how it works. Now my friends are also
very eager to do yoga.
We are bringing you some great pictures from the celebrations.
