Isha Education Trust has adopted government schools
in Andhra Pradesh to train them with Isha Vidhya
methodology, so that the teaching and learning becomes
more effective, and quality education is delivered. Towards
this, 3000 schools have been picked up, whose teachers
will be trained!  It is an humongous task.

Previously Andhra Pradesh GSSP team had conducted
workshops for 1000 teachers in 20 different locations.
Second round of training was conducted in 31 different
locations benefitting 1500 government teachers.
The Local Mandal Education Officers (MEOs) not only
monitored the entire training program but also motivated
the participants by reminding them that Isha Vidhya was
providing them with powerful tool with which they were
going to bring about a revolution in government schools.
Our school coordinators were welcomed and respected
widely. In some places school coordinators were
felicitated with shawls and gifts by the participants! In their
feedback, they’ve shared that the eight days of the
workshop appeared to have gone in a jiffy. Interestingly
participants who are 50+ enjoyed the activity part the
most since it reminded them of their school and college
days. All participants were charged up to play a vital role
in the transformation of lives of students.

Shares Nandhini, a senior academic co-ordinator
with Isha Vidhya:

"The teachers go through training in Remedial classes
for slow learners in English,Telugu and Math. Around 80
Senior Co-ordinators are here to train the Government
teachers who will teach remedial classes in schools that
fall into ANDHRA PRADESH GOVERNMENT SUPPORT
PROGRAM (APGSP), which adopts a teaching
methodology specific to Isha Vidhya Schools. Here, they
learn how to deliver a lesson adopting a multi-modal
approach. Once they receive this training they go back
to their schools and continue teaching in this method.
The assessment of the students is done on 5 levels on
a regular basis through multiple- choice questions. After
each level’s assessment, they move to next level. The
APGSP has been continuously doing these training sessions
in Chittoor District and the Government Teachers are
benefitting highly from it."
