Dear Patrons,

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the many
donors who have donated for Isha Vidhya, and helped us
take care of the infrastructure and the government school
support requirements.

Especially, we would like to thank our recurring donors
with whose unrelenting support, we are able to make strides
to address funding of teachers’ salary and learning aids at the
government schools that we support.

But we have a unique problem this year. We need to fulfil
around 4500 child education sponsorships this year.

For those who have been looking forward to sponsor a child’s
education at Isha Vidhya (each sponsorship costs US $240),
here is your golden chance! On November 28^th,
the Giving Tuesday, Globalgiving will be matching your first
recurring donation by 100%, that means not only you get to
sponsor a child, Isha Vidhya will also get some additional
benefit because of your donation to meet our other needs!.

How to donate? Start a recurring donation with one of the
following three options:

Option 1: $80 (and continue for additional 2 months)
Option 2: $60 (and continue for additional 3 months)
Option 3: $40 (and continue for additional 5 months)

Note: Please do not donate $240 in one single donation

Update on Govt. school support program work:

Training:

Remedial teaching:
Remedial & Happy Classroom training for handling remedial classes
were conducted for 12 teachers by the school co-ordinators on 25^th
July and 25^th & 26^th September 2017. The training included the
following components:

    1) Usage of the manual and the workbook
    2) Introduction of vowels and consonants
    3) Preface to reading simple and complex words
    4) Fluency development & comprehension in silent reading and
        reciting out loud
    5) Development of confidence and interest in reading
    6) Communication of thoughts and ideas or to write what is heard
    7) Developing clear communication and the confidence to speak
        in front of a class
    8) Discriminate sounds; comprehend what is being spoken, e.g.,
        instructions, story, etc., classroom management tools

Happy Classroom training
    1) Positive reinforcement: Discipline, adopting to situation,
        Acknowledgement & Award
    2) Controlling negative activity: Setting limits & Negative reaction
    3) Extra tools for effective learning
