Summary
This project aims to help transform the lives of underprivileged young girls living at the Janani home by providing food, accommodation, education and healthcare and also to provide all-round development.
Challenge
In our society, many girls are not provided resources they need to acquire a good education, safe life. The girl children in India have to face hardships such as insecurity, poor resources to acquire education, lack of guidance. The girl children are compelled to find a job to support the family or stay back at home to take care her siblings.
Solution
To overcome this situation, Janani home provides proper shelter, food and structured day for the young girls living there. Their stay is comfortable, clean and supervised by several adults. They get extra coaching with international volunteers and interns. Extracurricular activities such as painting, drawing, tailoring, embroidery and art work are offered to develop their skill. They get chances to exhibit their skills in dance and music. Janani home is sure to leave the lasting and positive impact on the girls who call this place home.
Long-Term Impact
The girls living at the Janani Home will be brought up in an environment that will equip them with the tools to lead a self-reliant life. We remove the children from neglectful and abusive homes and give them a chance to be surrounded by loving individuals. The nutritional, medical and educational care they receive will create a structured and safe life. The Janani home also provides a safe place where the girls can be nurtured, as children, and become productive members of society, when they reach adulthood.
