Palestinian families living in Jerusalem’s Old City face persistent poverty, instability, and policies that threaten both their livelihoods and their continued presence in the city. In neighborhoods such as Bab Hutta, many children are unable to access early childhood education due to high costs and limited available services. These challenges affect not only children’s learning opportunities but also their emotional and social development in an environment shaped by ongoing pressure and uncertainty.
The Jerusalem Preschool Project responds to these needs by providing free, high-quality preschool education in a safe and supportive environment. Through structured early learning activities and psychosocial support, the project helps children develop essential cognitive and social skills while addressing the emotional impact of growing up in a fragile context. By engaging families and creating a nurturing space for young learners, the preschool strengthens children’s sense of safety, belonging, and resilience.
Beyond individual impact, this project plays an important role in sustaining the Palestinian community in Jerusalem. Supporting early education helps families remain rooted in their neighborhoods and preserves cultural identity in one of the city’s most vulnerable areas. With your support, Palestinian children are given the foundation they need to grow, learn, and envision a brighter future—while investing in a strong, educated, and resilient next generation.
