More Success Stories /Appreciation Day for Donors

By Gayane Abrahamyan | Founding Director, For Equal Rights NGO

Inara while practicing her new profession
Inara while practicing her new profession

On September 27, 2023, Inara's family was one of the families that were forcibly displaced from Artsakh. Inara lived in Stepanakert and after displacement lost everything and settled down in Yerevan. A teacher of mathematics by profession, she had a long-standing desire to learn a second profession. And that wish came true thanks to the donors of the current initiative. Due to their financial donations Inara is learning nail design today. At the end of the course, she will also receive professional tools with which she can start working right away.

Ruzanna lived and worked in Togh village of Hadrut district before the 44-day war. After the war, Ruzanna's family was displaced and started living in Stepanakert, and in 2023, due to the forced displacement of the Artsakh population, settled in Armenia. Ruzanna, who has two professions, is facing the question of finding a job today. Thanks to our donors Ruzanna received an electric oven, a mixer giving her a chance to restart her favorite baking hobby and make money out of it.

On January 29, 2024 a thanksgiving and appreciation tea meeting for the donors and beneficiaries of the project took place. As during the last months, the initiative has also been supported by the Czech Embassy in Armenia, the deputy Ambassador Ms. Mikaela Jerabkova handed over certificates to the latest cohort of beneficiaries of the program and wished them success in overcoming difficult social and psychological problems. Some of the individual donors of the project were awarded with certificates of appreciation by the "For Equal Rights" Educational Center.
