The 61 tailoring and leatherworking students at the main training center in Niamey took their mid-year exams in June and then went on their summer vacation.
DIMA delivered 36 traditional looms to the village of Lakatone in July. Ten looms were installed in the new weaving shed DIMA built in late spring. The other looms were distributed to weavers in the village and surrounding area.
In June, DIMA completed the construction of a new atelier for 42 polio survivors who are members of the Communaite des Handicapes Locomoteurs de la Commune Niamey II. The atelier was then provided with furniture and equipment, and training in tailoring and leatherwork began in the middle of July.
Late in July, weaving students from DIMA participated in a 10-day event to promote handweaving sponsored by the national government at the stadium in Niamey.
