Meet the First 3 New Hires in Prampram!
![]()
We are so pleased to announce that since our fundraiser kicked off in December, we've raised more than $12,000, which will enable us to hire 10 new Mamas. We started hiring in December and would like to introduce you to the first 3 women who have directly benefited from your generosity.
DORCAS - SEAMSTRESS
Dorcas is the newest Global Mama at our Fair Trade Textile Workshop. Her favorite part of her new role is learning how to sew new items and improve her quality. Dorcas currently rents a small house in Prampram, but dreams of building her own home one day. Thanks to the steady income she now earns, she has opened a bank account and is starting to save toward that goal.
MARY - SEAMSTRESS
Mary dreams of opening up her own sewing shop one day and is excited to learn more business management skills by working with Global Mamas. She is a wife and a mother of two boys, Gabriel (9) and Dennis (4). She plans on using her new income to save toward her goal as well as the goals of her sons to become a doctor and soldier, respectively.
SALOMEY - SEAMSTRESS
Salomey joined the Global Mamas team with ten years of experience as a seamstress. She lives in Prampram with her Husband, Isaac and their son Kennedy (2). Salomey enjoys working for Global Mamas because of the reliable income. In the future, Salomey dreams of owning a small shop selling groceries and her own creations. She would also love to travel more with her family.
These women come from different walks of lives, are different ages and have different dreams, but they do have a common goal of improving the lives of themselves, their families and their communities. Thanks to your donation they are well on the way of achieving their personal and shared goals!
Thank you from the entire Global Mamas team!
