Food Support for Struggling Fathers

By Joy Ojochogwu Etubi | Project Leader

Dear Donors,

Thank you for your interest in the Joy is Coming: Help Struggling Fathers with Food project. At this time, no donations have been received, so the planned food support for struggling fathers and their families has not yet started.

Across many communities in Nigeria, fathers are facing serious hardship due to unemployment, illness, and low income. For many, providing daily meals for their families has become a major challenge. This situation affects not only their physical health but also their confidence and sense of responsibility within the home.

Without regular access to food, families begin to feel the impact quickly. Children may go to bed hungry, and households struggle to maintain basic nutrition. The stress of not being able to provide can weigh heavily on fathers, affecting their well-being and family relationships.

This project is designed to provide raw food packs containing grains, vegetables, protein, and dairy products. These supplies will allow fathers to prepare meals for their families at home, giving them a sense of control and stability. Rather than depending on irregular help, they can plan meals and ensure their households are fed consistently.

Providing food in this form also supports dignity. Fathers are able to continue caring for their families in a meaningful way, which helps restore confidence and strengthens the home environment. It also reduces the need to seek unsafe or unreliable means of survival.

With steady access to food, families can regain balance. Children can eat regularly, and fathers can focus on finding work or managing other responsibilities without the constant burden of hunger in the household.

We appreciate your time in learning about this effort. We remain hopeful that support will come so this project can begin and reach fathers who are trying to care for their families under difficult conditions.

Sincerely,

Joy Ojochogwu Etubi
