Since we last wrote, we have transformed the newly opened Toussna Study Centre into a bright, hopeful and welcoming space for primary school pupils to learn and develop different skills. The centre was originally set up to help secondary school students to revise for their exams. Since the earthquake struck a year ago, older students have been relocated to Marrakech whilst school rebuilding gets underway and so the facility has instead provided a valuable learning space for primary school pupils.
EBF has worked with teachers to conduct various workshops including technology and music, welcoming groups of pupils to different sessions each day.
We held an end of term Summer festival at the centre for all of the primary school students in Asni, celebrating their achievements and contributions to the school community, in the face of many challenges. Pupils were awarded shining star certificates and bursaries for families to support their path through education.
“We want to inspire young people in our community and this celebration has recognised how hard they have worked and encourages them to follow their dreams.” – Fatima Gouansa, EBF Operations Manager.
Your donation is helping to purchase more curriculum text books and employ a full time on-site centre manager.
Thank you for supporting our efforts to make the Toussna centre a hub of hope and optimism in our community.
