The malaria situation in the community remains a concern, especially following the heavy rains experienced in recent days. The rain has created many stagnant-water areas where mosquitoes can breed, resulting in an increase in mosquitoes around homes and villages.
Families, particularly children, pregnant women, and elderly people, remain vulnerable to malaria. Many households have limited resources to purchase mosquito-prevention supplies, making community support very important.
Our Response
Karitas Relief Mission continues to support vulnerable families by providing mosquito repellents and promoting simple malaria-prevention measures. Families are being encouraged to use the repellents consistently, sleep under mosquito nets, keep their surroundings clean, and remove stagnant water where possible.
Community members are also being encouraged to seek medical attention quickly when symptoms such as fever, chills, headache, weakness, or body pain appear.
Why Support Is Still Needed
The continued rains mean that mosquitoes remain a serious threat. More families need mosquito-prevention supplies, and ongoing awareness is necessary to help protect children and other vulnerable community members.
Every contribution can help a family take practical steps to prevent malaria and protect their health.
Karitas Relief Mission remains committed to working with the community to reduce malaria risks and keep vulnerable village families safe.If you want, I can also make this into a shorter GlobalGiving-style update with a stronger donation appeal.
