Keeping Village Families Safe from Malaria
Karitas Relief Mission continues to work with vulnerable village families to reduce the risk of malaria and promote healthier living conditions. Malaria remains a serious concern for families, particularly children and other vulnerable members of the community.
Our work focuses on helping families understand how malaria is transmitted, how it can be prevented, and the importance of seeking treatment quickly when symptoms appear.
Activities on the Ground
Community members are being encouraged to:
Sleep under insecticide-treated mosquito nets every night.
Ensure children are properly protected from mosquito bites, especially at night.
Keep homes and surrounding areas clean and remove places where mosquitoes can breed.
Recognize common malaria symptoms and seek medical care promptly.
Follow health workers' advice and complete prescribed malaria treatment.
Share malaria prevention information with other families in their communities.
Progress and Community Response
Families are increasingly engaging in discussions about malaria prevention and are becoming more aware of the importance of consistent protection against mosquito bites. Community awareness is especially important because prevention begins at household level.
Karitas Relief Mission is continuing to listen to families and identify gaps in malaria prevention so that support can reach those who are most vulnerable.
Looking Ahead
We will continue community education, household-level malaria prevention activities, and follow-up with vulnerable families. We also hope to reach more households with mosquito nets and other malaria-prevention support.
Every family protected from malaria is a step toward a healthier and safer community.
