Keeping Village Families safe from Malaria

Dear Donors

Families in Namakwa Village continue to face the threat of malaria, particularly during this period of heavy rains. Standing water and increased mosquito activity are making it difficult for many families to protect themselves, especially children and other vulnerable members of the community.

Karitas Relief Mission continues to engage with families and raise awareness about malaria prevention. Community members are being encouraged to reduce mosquito breeding areas around their homes, use mosquito protection measures, and seek medical attention quickly when signs of malaria appear.

The situation remains concerning because malaria can become serious very quickly, especially in young children. Families are therefore being encouraged to remain vigilant and to take preventive measures every day rather than waiting until someone becomes sick.

Community members appreciate the continued attention being given to malaria prevention. Karitas Relief Mission will continue working with families to promote awareness, prevention, and early response to malaria cases.

- Encourage families to protect themselves from mosquito bites.

- Promote the removal of standing water around homes.

- Encourage early medical attention when malaria symptoms appear.

- Continue community education on malaria prevention.

- Pay particular attention to children and other vulnerable family members.

The community remains committed to working together to reduce malaria infections and protect families, especially during the rainy season.
