By Martin Fenton | Treasuer, Karen Fenton Ovarian Cancer Fund
We have entered a new phase in our ambitious plans to fundraise and purchase an important piece of equipment for cancer tumour sequencing in CUH, Cork, Ireland. We are now holding regular meetings with Dr. Dearbhaile Collins in order to iron out the details of the purchase of the machine. We expect to finalize this in the next few months. We are also extremely busy organising the 3rd annual Karen Fenton Memorial Run which we are hosting on April 19th next.
We have now raised more then $80,000 raised across all our fundraising efforts. Our overall target is $100,000 and we expect to achieve that after our upcoming memorial run. We have received over $1770 so far on this particular project on GlobalGiving. The funds raised through this GlobalGiving initiative go greatly to helping us towards our goal and are greatly appreciated.
We are also continuing to engage in fundraising through the sale of Keep Cups - and promoting sustainability - in honour of Karen who was such as avid sustainability advocate.
Kind regards
