By Martin Fenton | Treasurer, Karen Fenton Ovarian Cancer Fund
Karen Fenton Ovarian Cancer Fund has switched from working with CUH on the cancer sequencing machine to planning for our next event - the Karen Fenton Memorial Run 2023. This annual event in the local area where Karen lived will again be a fundraising initiative to further the awareness of ovarian cancer and for further research and support for treatment.
We also recently particpated in an awareness campaign for World GO and donated €5000 toarads the marketing costs for this campaign. The fund felt that this donation was a worthy investment in building awareness for this disease.
Last report we updated that the Genexus machine was purchased and commissioned in 2021 for Cork University Hospital with the help of the significant donation of €80k from the fundraising efforts from the Fenton family and the Karen Fenton Ovarian Cancer Fund. It's great that we can now see the tangible benefits of our fundraising effort which is contributing to Karen's legacy.
