Through our project, we provide food assistance to vulnerable families in communities in the north, center and south of Honduras. Our objective is to guarantee access to and availability of healthy food, thus promoting a balanced diet that contributes to the well-being and quality of life of those who need it most. In addition to providing basic inputs, we seek to promote a varied and nutritious diet, helping to improve food security in these regions.
During the last period, Banco de Alimentos de Honduras has been able to expand its reach thanks to the valuable support of its strategic allies, among them companies that donate food and essential products, as well as supportive individuals who have contributed through the GlobalGiving platform and other donation channels. Thanks to this joint effort, we have been able to serve a total of 1,750 families in 14 communities, bringing hope and relief to households facing great economic hardship. This tireless work is part of our ongoing fight against hunger and malnutrition in the country, a challenge that motivates us to move forward with greater strength and commitment.
The donations received through the GlobalGiving platform have supported the delivery of a total of 72 food pantries. Thanks to the help of Global's donors, we continue to strengthen our efforts to care for the environment by rescuing food and preventing it from being wasted by people with limited resources.
The delivery of these pantries has meant immediate respite for hundreds of people living in precarious conditions. Many beneficiaries have shared moving testimonies about the impact this assistance has had on their lives, highlighting how the support of Banco de Alimentos de Honduras and its donors has allowed their families to have a plate of food on the table, especially in times of crisis and adversity.
However, despite the efforts made, there are still many families in need of urgent assistance. The continuity of this program depends largely on the solidarity and generosity of people like you.
