Career Day is an important capstone for graduating Kisa Scholars. Working in teams through the year, girls research careers of interest to them and then present their research - complete with props demonstrating the tools they'll need on the job - to visiting professionals.
Year 6 Kisa Scholar Noreen* shares that she joined Kisa Project because she wanted to become more confident. Now she's comfortable speaking before anyone she meets. She dreams one day of becoming a radio broadcaster, helping deliver news through this particular medium because it is accessible by everyone.
She impressed us so much by her desire to become a radio broadcaster, we connected her with Voice of America, which interviewed her for an upcoming radio program! Stay tuned to the Daring Girls LinkedIn and Instagram accounts to listen to the story once it airs. We know that this radio appearance will be the first of many.
Do you know an astronomer?
We need your help! Clara* is a Form 6 Kisa Scholar who participated in Career Day with aspirations of becoming an astronomer. However, our sister organization GLAMI was not able to find an astronomer in Tanzania that could speak with Clara about her career ambiions.
Clara has a list of questions and we're looking for an astronomer to answer them via a video recording. If you have a lead, please drop us a line at hello [at] daringgirls.org!
