Dear Kresy-Siberia Virtual Museum donors,
We have had a terrific start, raising over $1,000 in the first 2 months of our GlobalGiving campaign! A huge thank you - your donations ensure that work continues on the Kresy-Siberia Virtual Museum and that it keeps going to research, remember and recognise Poland's citizens fighting for freedom and survival in WW2.
Our world-wide Facebook discussion group continues to grow, reaching 800 members. Please refer your friends and family to join the Kresy-Siberia Group and to add biographies, photographs and documents to the virtual museum.
The work on adding the over 300,000 searchable names from the IPN Index of the Repressed to our virtual Wall of Tribute is almost complete. We are nearly finished adding 18,000 names from a list of of Polish Sybirak refugees compiled by the Polish Red Cross in 1943. We are also adding the names of over 3,000 awarded Polish Navy Personnel 1939-1947 - many of them Sybiraks evacuated from the USSR to Iran with General Anders in 1942. This will bring the Wall of Tribute to nearly 400,000 names in all. Thank you to our world-wide team of unpaid volunteers – without them none of this would be possible.
Since we have not received any grants for the virtual museum in the last 2 years, we rely entirely on donations like yours to keep it online and to keep your contributed materials remain secure. With every donation, we can invest further in filming interviews with remaining Survivors, adding thousands of missing Victims and Survivors to the Wall of Tribute and completing online Exhibitions on missing topics from this little-known history.
From all of us at the Kresy-Siberia Foundation - THANK YOU!
PS please join us our 3rd Kresy-Siberia “Generations Remember” Conference in Warsaw on September 17-19, 2016. Please visit http://kresy-siberia.org/museum/conference/ for more information and to register.
